Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 

The City Clerk’s Office handles all FOIA Requests submitted to the City of Peoria, and the Peoria Police Department handles FOIA Requests pertaining to the Police Department, in accordance with Illinois State Statute

Requests will receive a response within 5 days, and Commercial Requests will receive a response within 21 days. 

Online FOIA Request submissions through JustFOIA allows the requestor to determine the status of the request, receive documents through the online portal, and provides an option to create an account to better track all requests.  


FOIA Requests can also be submitted using the following methods:

Police Department Requests:

  • In-person at the Front Information Office at the Peoria Police Department at the address listed above.
