City of Peoria Supports Neighborhoods Through 2022 Neighborhood Mini Grant Program

On Monday, May 2nd, the city of Peoria will launch a Neighborhood Mini Grant Program funded through the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act. This program will be offered in 2022 and 2023 to provide neighborhood and homeowner associations with an opportunity to engage community members and improve neighborhood through outreach efforts, events, and projects.

Under this program, the city of Peoria will fund four neighborhood projects in each of the five council districts, totaling 20 projects each year.  Neighborhood associations, homeowner associations, neighborhood watch groups, and community groups which are established prior to the funding year are welcome to apply.  Applicants are required to provide proof of community support for the project with their application.

Eligible projects include, but are not limited to: public art, block parties, outreach and communication materials, public space enhancements, placemaking, signs, and pop-up events. Ineligible projects include any project which incurs ongoing maintenance costs to the city of Peoria, any event that sells or provides alcohol or cannabis, administrative fees, or direct financial assistance to individuals or families. All projects must comply with city of Peoria municipal codes. For a complete list of program guidelines, visit www.appreciatepeoria.com/assistance.

The application period begins at 8:00 AM on Monday, May 2, and ends at 5:00 PM on Friday, June 11. Applications will be reviewed by a panel of volunteer community members and City staff who will review and score the applications to determine funding.

The application and an online application training session can be found at https://portal.neighborlysoftware.com/PEORIAIL/Participant as well as www.appreciatepeoria.com/assistance.
