Erosion
Peoria’s Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Control Ordinance is in place to protect property owners and the environment from silt migration, erosion of stream banks and ravines, and excessive stormwater runoff. Any project that disturbs more than 5,000 square feet of ground requires an erosion/stormwater control permit. Disturbing the ground means removing grass, trees or pavement so that the underlying soil is exposed.

Paint Program
The City of Peoria realizes the value in encouraging residents to help keep Peoria an attractive place to live. In an effort to promote the beautification of its residential districts, the City has established a Paint Program for residential property owners. Parking Lot Permit
A parking lot permit is required any time a new parking lot is being installed or an existing parking lot is being overlaid. The contractor must be licensed and bonded with the City of Peoria. Failure to obtain a permit prior to installation or overlaying a parking lot may result in the removal/replacement of materials at no cost to the City and a double permit fee. Sealcoating of an existing parking lot does not require a permit.
