2022 Violence Prevention Program Funding Available

The 2022 Violence Prevention Program Funding application is now available and is due on Friday, September 9 at 2 PM CT. This grant provides funding for programming focused on place-based efforts and supportive services to prevent crime and promote neighborhood safety.

Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program

The Housing Rehabilitation Program is a two-year match grant program that provides between $3,000 to $15,000 to income-qualified homeowners within Qualifying Census Tracts of single-family properties. This program provides assistance towards certain permanent building and site improvements. The purpose of this program is to increase the owner-occupancy rate within the census tract, improve the outward appearance of homes, and increase the assessed valuation of properties within the City.

All applicants must meet all the following eligibility requirements:

  • Must live in the City of Peoria.
  • Must have current homeowners insurance
  • Must be at or below 120% of the area median income (AMI) by household size
  • Cannot owe the City any outstanding debt
  • Cannot have any outstanding code violations
  • Must be current on property taxes
  • Must live within a Qualified Census Tract

  • Total household income must be at or below the following limits:
    • 1 person household: $64,200
    • 2 person household: $73,320
    • 3 person household: $82,440
    • 4 person household: $91,560
    • 5 person household: $99,000
    • 6 person household: $106,320
    • 7 person household: $113,640
    • 8 person household: $120,960
