CDBG PUBLIC SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSION

About

The CDBG Public Services Advisory Commission is a thirteen member commission created by ordinance on March 19, 1974. A quorum of seven persons is needed in order to conduct business.

Jurisdiction

The purpose of this commission is to keep the citizens of Peoria informed of social service programs provided by the City of Peoria and social service agencies as well as provide officers and departments of the City expert advice and assistance in evaluating and coordinating social service programs.

Each year, this commission receives funding applications from entities who desire to provide needed public services to the citizens of Peoria. Grant funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant program.

Community Development Block Grant

Eligible activities include new or expanded public service programs that serve income eligible households and residents. Emphasis is placed on funding activities that address the priorities set by the Peoria City Council.

Applications & Schedules

The CDBG Public Services Advisory Commission’s regular meetings are on the third Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 404 at City Hall, 419 Fulton Street, Peoria, Illinois 61602.
