Forest Hill Homeowner Association to Host Honorary Street Naming October 15

Residents Sponsor Honorary Street Naming for Neighbor Bill Allen

October 7, 2021 (Peoria, IL) On Friday, October 15 at 10:30 am, the Forest Hill Homeowner Association will honor Bill Allen with an honorary street naming.  Mr. Allen, who passed away on June 9 of this year, was known for his frequent litter collection and beautifying efforts in his subdivision.  Acknowledged as a “Peoria Jewel” by the homeowner association, Mr. Allen lived in his neighborhood for over forty years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.  An employee of Caterpillar for four decades, Mr. Allen also supported the Nature Conservancy and did restoration work at Singing Woods Nature Preserve.

A brief program and unveiling will be held at the southwest corner of Sterling and Forrest Hill at 10:30 am on October 15.  Speakers will include Council Members Grayeb and Allen.  Masking and social distancing protocols will be in place for the safety of all in attendance.
