Homicide Investigation

(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, November 19, 2022, at approximately 8:27 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2800 block of West Montana Street on a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress and shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult female inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was unresponsive and life saving measures were performed. The victim had critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased. The cause and manner of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), and Crime Scene Unit (CSU) responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. There is currently no suspect information.
This incident is under investigation.
