Human Resources
The Human Resources Department is dedicated to promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of governmental operations by the application of sound Human Resource Management practices and by utilizing our creativity and available resources to anticipate the needs of those we serve. We are committed to a service philosophy based on quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness of service. The department is made up of three divisions:Personnel Services, Risk Management and Labor Relations. The department currently employs 5 individuals who are responsible for the following areas:Employment, Healthcare and other benefits, Labor Relations, Employment Testing, Classification & Compensation, Risk Management & Safety, City Wide Training programs and Employee Recognition. We strive to do our best to serve both our employees and the public.

Firefighter Testing
We are currently accepting applications for Firefighter, but there is no testing date set at this time. If you apply, you will be notified when the testing process begins.
Police Recruit Testing
Police Recruit Examination Process is now in progress! Required documents: Photocopies of Driver’s License, certified birth certificate and high school diploma or high school transcript or GED certification. Go to http://www.peoriagov.org/internal-applications/ to apply online or call 309-494-8578 to have an application sent to you. Deadline to apply is April 5, 2021, by 5:00 p.m.
