Shooting Investigation

(PEORIA, IL) Friday, November 18, 2022, at approximately 12:38 p.m. Peoria Police responded to a Shot Spotter alert of 35 rounds fired in the 2700 block of W. Montana Street. While officers were enroute to the above location, a second Shot Spotter alert came in at 12:40:51 p.m. in the 2300 block of W. Grinnell indicating 5 rounds fired. A third Shot Spotter alert came in at 12:40:57 in the 1500 block of S. Faraday of 10 rounds fired.
When officers arrived on W. Montana, they were informed about a gunshot victim in the 2100 block of N. Oregon. When officers arrived on Oregon, they located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
Currently there is no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
