(PEORIA, IL) Monday, February 20, 2023, at approximately 5:37 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 1600 block of Stanley on a Shot Spotter alert of 25 rounds fired with full auto gunfire and multiple shooters.
While enroute, officers were advised that there was an adult male with a gunshot wound to the head in the area. When officers arrived, they located the victim with an apparent graze wound to the head. The victim was transported
to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police that a vehicle drove to the intersection of Stanley and Hayes and several males exited the vehicle and began firing shots. No one else was injured.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Special Investigations Division (SID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
This incident is under investigation. There is currently no suspect information.
