(PEORIA, IL) Sunday, March 5, 2023, at approximately 9:11 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 2700 block of N. Indiana on a Shot Spotter alert of 4 rounds fired.
While enroute to the scene, officers were rerouted to the 700 block of E. Seneca on a call of a house being struck by gunfire. No one was injured.
When
officers arrived, they observed a vehicle leaving the area where the Shot Spotter occurred. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled the area at a high rate of speed. Police followed the vehicle, but a short time later terminated the pursuit.
During the course of the investigation, officers located the wrecked vehicle unoccupied near Corrington and Linn.
Officers conducted a search of the area for the suspect but were unsuccessful.
This incident is under investigation. Currently, there is no suspect information.
