(PEORIA, IL) Friday, March 10, 2023, at approximately 5:05 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) conducted surveillance on a residence associated with a wanted subject.
During the course of the investigation, officers observed the wanted subject, identified as 25-year-old Andre Johnson leave the residence, get into a vehicle and drive away.
Officers followed, and observed the vehicle pull into a business in the 1500 block of NE Jefferson. Officers quickly approached Johnson and placed him into custody without incident.
During a search of Johnson officers located a loaded handgun on his person.
Johnson was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Aggravated Domestic Battery, and Disorderly Conduct.
Johnson was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
