(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, October 22, 2022, at approximately 2:36 a.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2900 block of West Seibold Street on two ShotSpotter alerts indicating 12 rounds and 4 rounds fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male outside of a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was unresponsive and life saving measures were performed. The victim sustained critical injuries and could not be revived. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The cause and manner of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division (CID), and Crime Scene Unit (CSU) responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. There is currently no suspect information.
This incident is under investigation.
Update 3/14/2023:
During the course of this investigation, detectives identified a suspect vehicle that is believed to have been used in the commission of this crime.
On October 08, 2022, the pictured 2016 Dodge Charger SRT (Vin # 2C3CDXEJXGH129689) was stolen from a car dealership in Mattoon, Illinois. The vehicle is identified as an SRT trim model with “392” badging on both sides of the vehicle. The vehicle is currently reported as a stolen motor vehicle and also displayed a fictitious license plate. The current whereabouts of the vehicle are unknown.
