Earth Day is April 22, and for the entire month of April, the City of Peoria will be encouraging its residents to support Earth Day by helping to get all residents recycling.
This year is the 53rd celebration of Earth Day. To honor that the City has set a goal to get a minimum of 53 new recycling cart sign-ups before the end of April. If you are a resident of the City of Peoria and do not already have a recycling cart, please request one to be delivered to your home, free of charge, by visiting www.peoriapicksup.com.
If you already have a recycling cart, we encourage you to contact your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members to ensure they are also recycling. All City of Peoria residents who are on the City’s trash program are eligible for a recycling cart at no additional cost.
Looking for more ways to make a difference for Earth Day? Community Development will be sponsoring its Great American Cleanup from 8 am to noon on April 22. For more information on how your neighborhood association may participate, visit Great American Cleanup.
