(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, March 8, 2023, at approximately 2:47 a.m. Peoria Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that committed a traffic violation at the intersection of Peoria and McClure.
When police approached the vehicle, they observed three passengers inside. During the stop, officers determined probable cause to search the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle officers located a loaded handgun inside.
The driver identified as 19-year-old Alonte L. Butler was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and No FOID.
The juvenile was transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
