[ARCHIVED] 4/29/23 Aggravated Discharge, Firearms Recovered

(PEORIA, IL) Friday, April 28, 2023, at approximately 3:08 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of S. Griswold regarding 30 rounds fired.
When officers arrived, they did not locate a victim.
A short time later, officers learned that the shooting suspects were firing rounds from inside a moving vehicle that was recently reported stolen.
Police with the assistance of a License Plate Reader (LPR) located the stolen vehicle abandoned in the 700 block of Bartlett Court.
After abandoning the stolen vehicle, the suspects then entered another vehicle and drove away. Officers attempted to stop that vehicle, but the driver sped off and eventually ran off the road at Sheridan and Wilcox.
Officers then observed five male subjects exit the vehicle and flee on foot. After a short pursuit, officers apprehended two adult males and a 16-year-old male. Two suspects remain at large.
Police located a handgun on the juvenile’s person. A second handgun was located outside the vehicle.
The adult males identified as 18-year-old Kamerion A. Causey and 18-year-old Keinno J. Johnson and the juvenile were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes.
Causey and Johnson were subsequently arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Resisting Police.
The juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon Under 21, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Resisting Police.
Both adults were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
The juvenile was transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
This incident remains under investigation.
