(PEORIA, IL) Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at approximately 8:37 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) located a vehicle associated with an earlier theft in the 4800 block of N. University. This vehicle was also associated with an on-going motor vehicle theft conspiracy.
Officers detained four subjects in the area believed to be associated with the suspect vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle officers located two handguns.
All four subjects were transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes. The following individuals were subsequently arrested:
A 17-year-old male was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Reckless Conduct, and Possession of a Handgun under 21. He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
21-year-old Curtis L. King was arrested for Theft. He was served a Notice to Appear and was later released.
18-year-old Keshawn J. Williams was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID and Possession of a Handgun under 21.
18-year-old Marqwuan A. Shipp was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID and Possession of a Handgun under 21.
Both Williams and Shipp were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
