(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at approximately 11:28 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2000 block of W. Marquette on a Shot Spotter alert of 12 rounds fired. This alert was immediately followed by a 4 round Shot Spotter alert in the 2000 block of W. Antoinette and a one round Shot Spotter alert in the 2000 block of W. Marquette.
When officers arrived on scene, they located and adult male with an apparent gunshot
wound to the chest. Members of the Peoria Fire Department and Peoria Police immediately conducted life savings measures on the victim until AMT arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), Patrol Unit and Special Investigations Division (SID) responded to the scene an initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
