(PEORIA, IL) Friday, June 23, 2023, at approximately 1:10 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) made contact with an adult male in the 2400 block of N. Sheridan.
The subject identified as 18-year-old William M. Wade immediately ran from officers. During the foot pursuit, Wade ran inside a residence in the 2400 block of N. Sheridan. Officers followed and apprehended
Wade without further incident.
A loaded handgun with an extended magazine and additional ammunition was located inside the apartment.
Wade was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, and Obstructing Police.
He was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
