(PEORIA, IL) Friday, June 23, 2023, at approximately 1:09 a.m. Peoria Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle making an illegal U-turn in the 2100 block of Drury Lane.
When officers approached the vehicle, they observed two occupants inside. Probable cause to search the vehicle was immediately established by police.
During the search, officers located a loaded handgun with a full magazine and illegal drugs inside.
The driver identified as 20-year-old Tyrell A. Washington was placed into custody and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Delivery of Cannabis, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID Card, and Traffic Violations.
Washington was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
