Posted on: August 7, 2023[ARCHIVED] 8/7/23 Aggravated Battery with a Firearm
(PEORIA, IL) Sunday, August 6, 2023, at approximately 12:05 p.m. Peoria Police were responding to an incident in the 1700 block of N. Great Oak when they heard multiple gunshots west of their location.
Officers immediately ran towards the sound of gunfire and observed several subjects running westbound across N. Great Oak towards a wooded area.
During a foot pursuit, officers located and followed a blood trail that led them to a residence in the 1600 block of N. Great Oak. Officers entered the residence and located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
This incident is under investigation.
