(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at approximately 2:50 p.m. members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID) observed a wanted subject riding a bicycle in the 2400 block of W. Antoinette.
As officers attempted to make contact with the 13-year-old male juvenile he fled on the bicycle. Officers followed and apprehended the juvenile in the 2500 block of W. Antoinette.
During a search of the juvenile officers located a loaded handgun on his person.
The juvenile was transported to the Peoria Police Department for interviewing purposes and subsequently arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Handgun Under 21, Armed Robbery, and Resisting Police.
The juvenile was transported to the Peoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
