[ARCHIVED] Downtown parking restrictions to go into effect on Wednesday evening

Downtown Parking

Beginning at 6 pm tonight (Wednesday, August 16), there will be no on-street parking on Fulton Street from SW Jefferson Street to SW Monroe Street; SW Madison Avenue from Fulton Street to Main Street; and SW Monroe Street from Fulton Street to Main Street for slurry seal refinishing work.

These parking restrictions will be in effect until 5 pm on Friday, August 18. On-street parking will be available after 5 pm and through the weekend.

Fulton Street, SW Madison Avenue, and SW Monroe Street will be open to through traffic during the refinishing work. Access to City Hall’s parking lot, Twin Towers parking deck, and the Marriott Hotels parking deck will be maintained.

Additional parking and lane restrictions will be forthcoming as the project to restore reverse diagonal downtown parking to forward, pull-in angle parking progresses.

Drivers should be mindful of workers in the area and watch for bagged “No Parking” meters. Extra caution should be exercised in the area.
