Due to the extreme forecasted temperatures and heat indices this week, the City of Peoria’s recycling, yard waste, and trash collections will begin one hour earlier.
GFL will start collections at 5 am on Wednesday, August 23, and it will affect all pickup routes for the rest of the week.
Regular recycling, yard waste, and trash pickup times will resume next week.
To avoid missing a collection, recycling, yard waste, and trash containers should be set out by 5 am on your scheduled day. After pickup, move your containers from the curb or alley within 24 hours. Place them in your garage or alongside your house or garage. Please do not leave containers on the street or sidewalk.
