(PEORIA, IL) Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at approximately 1:55 a.m. Peoria Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1700 block of NE Madison.
When officers approached the vehicle, they made contact with the driver identified as 41-year-old Ronnie Winfield Jr.
As
the driver was exiting the vehicle officers observed a handgun (Polymer P80) inside. While officers were conducting a search of Winfield, they also located illegal drugs on Winfield’s person.
Winfield was arrested for Possession of a Firearm with No FOID, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Possession of a Firearm with no Serial Number (Ghost Gun).
Winfield was transported to the Peoria County Jail.
