(Peoria, IL) On Wednesday, August 30th at approximately 9:00 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2200 block of W. Marquette Ave. on two Shot Spotter alerts indicating 19 rounds fired and 10 rounds fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a crime scene and multiple victims with gunshot wounds. Six victims were transported to a local hospital. Five of the victims sustained gunshot wounds and the other victim sustained a
laceration. Two of the
victims, one adult male, and one juvenile male, are in critical condition. The other victims, one adult male, and three juvenile males have non-life-threatening injuries.
Members of the Peoria Police Department's Patrol Division, Special Investigations Division (SID), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Neighborhood Services Unit (NSU), and Crime Scene Unit (CSU) responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Members of the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, Illinois State Police, and the ATF also responded to the scene to assist with this investigation.
Currently, there is no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
