(PEORIA, IL) Monday, September 18, 2023, at approximately 8:21p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 2400 block of N. Sheridan on a Shot Spotter alert of 9 rounds fired.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male down with apparent gunshot wounds.
The
victim was immediately transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The cause and manner of death will be released by the Peoria County Coroner.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
There is currently no suspect information. This incident is under investigation.
