[ARCHIVED] 11/13/23 Homicide Investigation UPDATE

Previously Reported:
(PEORIA, IL) On Saturday, February 11, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m. Peoria Police responded to the 3400 block of W. Oakcrest on a report of multiple shots fired.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located a vehicle parked in the middle of the road. When officers approached the vehicle, they located an adult male victim inside with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim died a short time later.
Members of the Peoria Police Department’s Special Investigations Division (SID), Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Patrol Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
This incident is under investigation. There is no suspect information.

Update 02/20/2023:
During the course of this investigation, detectives identified two suspects involved in this incident. Torreon Carey (25-year-old) and Donte Agnew Jr. (21-year-old) are both wanted for First Degree Murder. Officers have been unsuccessful in their efforts to locate and arrest Carey and Agnew Jr. The Peoria Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating both males. 
Carey is described as a black male, approximately 5’09” 180 pounds, with long black hair, and brown eyes. 
Agnew Jr. is described as a black male, approximately 5’6” 140 pounds, with long black and red hair, and brown eyes.
If either male is seen, please notify the police immediately. Both males are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. 
Update 11/13/23:
On November 9, 2023, 21-year-old Donte T. Agnew was extradited back to Peoria County, after being arrested in Crown Point, Indiana.
Agnew was subsequently arrested for First Degree Murder and transported to the Peoria County Jail.
The search for Carey continues. This incident remains under investigation.
