(PEORIA, IL) Saturday, January 28, 2023, at approximately 6:28 p.m. Peoria Police were dispatched to the 900 block of S. Western in reference to an Armed Robbery at a business.
When officers arrived, they located a witness who told police that a male subject entered the store and pretended to shop. The witness also told police that the subject followed an employee to the back of the store and threatened the employee with a knife. The
subject then followed the store employee to the register where he took an
undisclosed amount of currency. The suspect then fled the store heading WB across Western. No one was injured.
With the assistance of an Illinois State Police K-9, officers conducted a search of the area for the suspect with negative results.
This incident is under investigation. There is currently no suspect information.
