Stormwater Delinquency Resolution Options

If your stormwater bill is $500 or more past due, the City of Peoria offers the following options to help you resolve your balance.

Option 1: Debt Hardship Program

You may qualify for a reduction or full waiver of your past-due balance based on household income.

  • You may also complete a paper application and submit it by mail or in person. (Application is available to download on the Debt Hardship Program page)

Please note: This option is only available to applicants who live in the home, are the homeowner, and do not own multiple properties. 

Option 2: Waiver of Late Fees and Penalties

For account holders who have received a notice of lien, you may request a one-time waiver of late fees and penalties if all of the following apply:

  • Your current stormwater bill(s) are paid in full.
  • You do not owe any other balances to the City (such as work orders or environmental fines)

To apply for the waiver:

If approved, the remaining balance that was eligible for a lien must be paid within fifteen (15) days

Option 3: Payment Agreement

You may be eligible for a 12-month payment plan to pay the full past-due balance

To Qualify:

  • You must not owe any other outstanding balances to the City.
  • Meet all criteria and conditions outlined in the payment agreement.
