Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 18, the southbound lane on N. MacArthur Highway between W. Brotherson Street and W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue will be closed to all traffic. The closure is necessary for the MacArthur Highway – MacArthur Bridge to Howett Street – Rehabilitation Project and is expected to last through the summer.
Drivers should utilize the marked detour routes. Drivers should use caution in the area and be mindful of the closures. The use of alternative routes is advised.
Lane Closures
• The southbound lane on N. MacArthur Highway will be closed to all traffic between W. Brotherson Street and W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue. No southbound traffic will be permitted in this area.
• Northbound traffic should be mindful of the new traffic configuration.
Road Closures
• W. Adrian G. Hinton Avenue will be closed at N. MacArthur Highway.
• W. Aiken Avenue will be closed at N. MacArthur Highway.
• W. Smith Street will be closed at N. MacArthur Highway.
• W. Johnson Street will be closed at N. MacArthur Highway.
Detour Route
• Southbound through traffic on N. MacArthur Highway should utilize W. John H. Gwynn Jr. Avenue to N. Richard Pryor Place to Jefferson Avenue.
