JONATHON ROMAIN
Associate/Creative Director, ART INC.
Occupation: Jonathon Romain, a nationally-known artist, has owned and operated art galleries at various locations for more than 20 years. He made his artistic vision a reality when he and his wife, Nikki, bought an old, vacant school building and converted it into ART INC., or Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow. The center offers arts, science, technology and math programs for students, along with a variety of community cultural events.
Community Involvement: Mr. Romain’s personal history is the backbone of his community involvement. Two weeks after graduating from college, he was sentenced to prison for selling drugs. His transformation to artist and entrepreneur eventually won support from a broad spectrum, including a prison warden and the judge who convicted him. His ability to inspire and motivate others has made him a sought-after speaker throughout the country.
