ANDRE W. ALLEN

Occupation: As Peoria County’s first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, Andre Allen leads county government efforts to create and maintain an inclusive environment. This includes talent attraction and retention, professional training and development, minority and women-owned business procurement, and community engagement. He previously served as director of student affairs, diversity, equity and inclusion at Methodist College.
Community Involvement: Mr. Allen volunteers with a variety of community organizations and projects, including the Police -Community Relations Advisory Committee, Peoria Public Schools Foundation, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, and Peoria Promise Foundation. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Kappa Pi Lambda Chapter of Peoria.
Education: Bachelor of Arts, communication studies, Master of Science, sports administration, Eastern Illinois University, Charleston. Doctoral candidate, higher education administration, Illinois State University.
Elected Office: Mr. Allen represents the Fourth District on Peoria City Council. He was elected in 2021. His priorities are neighborhood and infrastructure initiatives; business development; public safety and improving the quality of life for residents
