Career influence or inspiration: Mr. Williams calls Lorenzo Watson his best friend since childhood — and his role model. Mr. Watson started a charity in high school, earned a master’s degree and has steadily risen up the ranks in his field. To Mr. Williams, it’s meaningful to hear parents and other adults tell young people to do the right thing, but it’s even more meaningful when someone the same age and background as you succeeds and encourages you to succeed. “We call each other all the time to do wellness checks.”
Inspirational quote: “Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
