Occupation: Jaleesha Allen is an executive assistant in the Division of Specialized Care for Children of the University of Illinois-Chicago. The UIC-Division of Specialized Care helps connect families of children with specialized healthcare needs to services and resources. As an assistant to the division’s executive directors, Ms. Allen’s job involves ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions.
Community Involvement: As Mrs. Illinois Earth 2022, she promoted activities that had a positive impact on the environment. She has served as president of the parent-teacher organizations of Valeska Hinton Early Childhood Education Center and Whittier Primary School. She is a board member of Central Illinois Ballet and a member of Jack and Jill of America and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc

Three things she’s passionate about: “1) Supporting our youth to help them reach their full potential. 2) Creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone in our community. 3) Serving as a positive role model for young women, adult women, and mothers.”
Three favorite hobbies: “1) Participating in PTO work to actively contribute to the school community. 2) Engaging in pageantry to showcase talent and poise. 3) Supporting and participating in various sports and activities with my children.”
Career influence or inspiration: “My career has been greatly influenced by witnessing my mother, Ameena Muhammad, and her tireless dedication to providing a comfortable lifestyle for me and my sisters. She serves as a powerful role model for me in both her work ethic and her ability to provide for our family.”
