JACOBIE PROCTOR 

Chief Executive Officer, George Washington Carver Community Center

 

Occupation: Jacobie Proctor, CEO of George Washington Carver Community Center, is responsible for managing overall operations of the community center and setting its strategic direction. Carver offers education, recreation, health, social and civic programs for all ages, including childcare, SkillsUSA, a job-training program for students, and adult fitness classes.

 

Community Involvement: Ms. Proctor has served on the WTVP Community Broadcasting Advisory Council, School Health Advisory Committee, Boys and Girls Club Youth Advisory Council and the SkyArt Peoria jury of ArtsPartners of Central Illinois. She is a founding member of the Elizabeth Lindsay Davis chapter of the National Association of Colored Women (NACW.)

 

Education: Bachelor of Arts, English/language arts and teacher education, Hampton University; master of arts, early childhood education and teaching, Capella University

 

Three things she’s passionate about: family, education and children
