Artist Statement
With my artwork, I try to explore the beauty of life and optimism for the future. Whether that’s through slice of life settings or fantasy settings. This piece explores all of that, “Spring Will Come” is a four-part illustration that shows the seeming end of life of a tree. But amazingly enough, the following spring the tree blossoms. This symbolizes life and the hardships we can go through. But even if we fall over, we can always get back up and blossom.
I get inspiration and ideas from things I see in nature and the world around me. It was no different for this piece, which was referenced from an actual tree and house in West Peoria. I'm glad I was able to capture this beautiful event I witnessed with a detailed watercolor and poster paint illustration.
