Biography

Dawnia Darkstone is a multidisciplinary new media artist working at the intersection of glitch, photography, and custom-built creative software. Her practice uses digital error, distortion, and signal breakdown as tools for examining perception, legacy, and instability in contemporary image culture. She frequently builds her own applications to manipulate images at the data level, allowing artworks to fracture, mutate, and resist fixed meaning.

Her work spans digital editions, photography, and experimental media, and has been exhibited internationally and auctioned through Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Through both her art and tools, Darkstone treats glitch not as a malfunction, but as a generative force that reveals hidden structures and emotional residue within familiar forms.
